I know that a lot of my fellow genderweird bis who are into shipping go like “Oh, I can’t stand any whiff of Het Gender Stuff, I can only ship a m/f ship if it doesn’t even have a whiff of Het Gender Stuff” and I just can’t relate, because, for me, the main thing compelling me to ship an m/f thing over a same-gender thing is if there’s some element of Gender Role Engagement (coughcough kirashino), but again I’m allergic to All Gender Role Engagement. So it’s a hard balance!
